this is gonna be my first precure series and the closest i will get to watch a magical girl show without deconstructions trying to emulate madoka magica or yuuki yuuna
hopefully it ends up being a good show

Yeah! I specifically say airing cause I've actually watched a precure season before, but never while it was airing. So this will be fun!

Also, I've seen you around the Tokusatsu shows comment section before. Nice to see you're giving Precure a chance too. Considering it's under Toei Animation, you're still getting that good ol Toei style of Toku shows. So consider this a fine addition to your Super Hero Time! Precure is definitely your straight to the point magical girl series. No deconstruction or tired dark plot twist bs here. Just full on action, catchy themes and beautiful henshin scenes

It will be nice to see how a traditional magical girl show looks like after being bombarded with so many deconstructions

and sure, liked some like yuuki yuuna, but sometimes one just gotta get back to basics to learn more about what made the genre good in first place

I can recommend you Cardcaptor Sakura, if youd like. The original 1998 one, not the 2018 one.
If Sailor Moon is what paved the way to magical girl, then id say Cardcaptor Sakura really solidifed the formula. Its nice, interesting, really wonderful stuff. You can never go wrong with it

Cure Sweet would've been a nice name, but it doesn't fit with the riceball theme? it also seems like a very Kira Kira Precure Alamode kind of name.

Cure Sweet, Cure Salty, Cure Sour, Cure Bitter. Cure Umami added in the second half. That one’s free, Toei.

Or if that’s not good? Cure Satou, Cure Shio, Cure Su, Cure Shoyu, Cure Miso. The five core Japanese condiments.

some of them seem to be modeled for different types of food tho, like yum-yum is obviously chinese inspired and Spicy has that western vibe. So japanese condiments might be too restricting.

i heard there was a previous series of precure focused on sweets so i guess they rejected that to encourage more balanced diet

Given one of the look of one of generals, it already feels like we've got a 4th cure sometime in the future. Spoiler? Not quite, given we've had it happen where either the toys leak the info or we look at how things have went in past seasons with enemies who did the heel turn face. Eas and Siren as examples.

So far no T and no shade by any means😐 ok but I was looking for alot more originality for their were a lot of similar characteristics of previous Precure attributes.... So I dont think FOOD is the only Theme they are useing. I think they are trying to be more international. Look at our First Cure. Her DRess is totally based on teh Kimono. While the Blonde girl in the end credits is in a cheongsam style dress. I cannot pin down the Blue Cure's outfit. HOWEVER is is for sure wester, most likely french.
